Welcome to Plymouth College Outdoor Education Blog. Here we will show the vast variety of activities we offer to students throughout the year including Ten Tors, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Overseas Expeditions, Scuba Diving, Sailing, Paddlesport, Rock Climbing and Mountaineering, Mountain Biking, Power Kiting and much more.
Today all the Adventure Students were out at Alder Lake revisiting 2 Star skills in multiple craft including capsizing and rescue skills. Well done to the those that passed and the others will pass shortly.
Today the Year 8 Boys had a second session mountain biking. We rode out to Central Park, putting the skills learnt in last weeks session into practice on the muddy, slippy slopes.
Stunning sky and happy paddlers were the order of the day as Year 11 completed their third canoe session, getting off the water just as the sun was setting.
Due to a number of injuries and the strong winds blowing around, we went to Exeter Canal. Paddling Sea kayaks we looked at paddle selection and how this influences paddling. We also palyed a few games of Canoe Polo, with only one swimmer.
