Pool Diving Sessions






Today the L6 Adventure Bac students completed all of their Pool Dives for the PADI Open Water Qualification.

Tamar Paddle






Today the upper sixth completed the kayak trip they had planned on Tuesday.  We got on at Cotehele Quay on the turn of the tide and used the flow to make it down to Mayflower Marine with a lunch break at Cargreen.

Bantham Surfing






This evening, we managed a quick trip down to Bantham for some practice prior to a competition next week. The surf was quite good at times and 8 students took part and made the most of the hour in the water

Sea Kayaking




Yesterday the Upper Sixth Ad. Bac. students were paddling on the sea in Plymouth Sound.  The morning saw calm conditions and after an initial warm up we went rock hopping up the coast, past Jennycliff bay and on towards the break water.  After lunch on an isolated beach the tide had dropped and the conditions picked up with a bit of swell making paddling more stimulating.  This changed the challenges of rock hopping from 'easy' to 'stimulating'.  On the return we also looked at efficient forwards paddling before reaching Mount Batten and attempting the 'nose on the front of the boat' challenge...

Boating in the Sound






Today the Upper 6th students were out in the School RIB looking at risks involved with powerboating. Later on this term they will take the Level 2 Powerboat Course.

Boarders Prefect Training Weekend

Welcome to Mr Rees

 
 
Welcome to Mr Rees who joins us this year in the role of Assistant head of Outdoor Education. He is a big caving enthusiast and holds the Cave Instructor Certificate, the highest caving qualification in the UK. Mr Rees is also a Mountain Leader and a qualified kayaking, canoeing, biking and climbing Instructor.
