Blessed with the weather again all four teams had a good walk. The 55 mile team had a long day today - we were in danger of reaching the mini bus at 13.30, so we added an extra long extension. Tired legs for all.
The Silver DofE group who opted for biking had their first ride out this afternoon. We got muddy, looked at navigation on bikes and basic riding skills. Getting home before it got dark!
This afternoon we went up to Marjons for our climbing session. We did some bouldering and top roping before starting to look at the first stages of leading, where we practised cliping a short lenght of rope into the quickdraws as we traversed across the bottom of the wall
Well done to the Sixth Form Students who lead a very successful day out kayaking for the Year 7 & 8 students. There were many good games and the day ran smoothly, helped along by the fine weather and sunshine.
Superb results as the climbing club helped raise £120 for Children in Need by climbing a combined total of 380 meters at the Life Centre as part of their involvement with the nation wide events.
Last night the L6 students on the Sports Bac went to Whiteworks for the night for one of the units they cover. In the afternoon students undertook a range of challenges to gain clues to help them with their walk out this morning. This morning we were greeted with clear blue skys for our walk out to Norsworthy Bridge via Nuns Cross and Down Tor.
We had four groups out today, some groups were rained on at times but the group I was with was blessed with sunshine all day. Well done to all those who were out.
