Gold DofE assessment, North Wales

This week six students ventured to the Rhinogs in North Wales to undertake their assessed expedition for their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.  All students performed exceptionally well taking the wind, rain, early starts and dark evenings in their stride successfully completing their expedition.  Well done and congratulations to all students involved.

Another Silver DofE training!

After a truly wet and windy night where the campsite flooded and we had to move tents when all reasonable people are in bed, Sunday proved to be a cracking day.  A big well done to all those who went out this weekend, keeping cheerful throughout.

Silver D of E Practice

A big well done to the super team of Silver DofE students who were out this weekend.  The navigation, campcraft and team morale were of a high standard and the group worked well throughout, setting the standard for the expeditions over the next few weekends.

Silver DofE paddle expedition

Well done to those who completed their practice expedition this weekend.  Lots of miles were put in, some with the wind and some against it, and the portaging became quicker and slicker throughout.

Silver DofE canoe training in the wind

Well done to all those who were out over the weekend on their Silver DofE training.  After a very windy and sleepless night on Friday, we were blown around even more on Saturday, before a calm(er) paddle north up the canal on Sunday.

Gold DofE Dartmoor Walk

A quick blast around Dartmoor this afternoon with the Gold D of E students. Nowhere near as nice as last week and even a few minutes of heavy drizzle to keep us moving.

Gold D of E Completed

Well done to both teams for completing their Gold expedition. The last two days have been somewhat wetter than the first but not enough to dampen the students spirits.
