Somewhat soggy slabs

We all went climbing at the Dewerstone this afternoon. Determined to get out on the rock and not hide indoors we braved the weather and got to grips with soggy holds and slippery surfaces. 

Learning the ropes

We had even greater numbers for this weeks venture the the Dewerstone for a spot of climbing. The old hands remembered it all from last year and were instrumental in teaching those new to the club how to sort their harnesses out, put on their helmets correctly, tie in and belay. A fantastic evening out making the most of the Autumn sunshine.

It got a bit dark towards the end, but we arrived at the bus before having to crack the head torch out. Brilliant time climbing, and it wasn't all that wet...honest!

A brilliant start to the year, bagging a day out climbing at the Dewerstone with the Lower Sixth students.

Today the first year Sport Baccalaureate students completed their assessed one day out. The weather improved as it said it would and students managed the climbing, navigating and walking independently and with the occasional smile!

Dewerstone Adventure

 

Outdoor Ed club expanded tonight and three students went climbing and abseiling at the Dewerstone in the evening sun.

Today the U6 BTEC students did some climbing at the Dewerstone before navigating their way to Cadover Bridge in the glorious sunshine.
