Last day of Hill Skills

We had glorious weather today for the last day of the Hill Skills course. Starting from Nosworthy Bridge we summited Down Tor before heading to Nuns Cross for lunch and returned via Combshead Tor, Crazy Well Pool and Leather Tor Bridge. The students led the day, taking turns to navigate.

Hill Skills day 2

Conditions at the start of today were wet

The group shelter was much enjoyed over lunch time

We bumped into some locals

and got good at bearings in the cloud.

Well done to the students today on the second day of their Hill Skills course. We started at the Scout Hut and were in the mist from the start. Everyone did very well in the conditions and we managed to find all the points we were heading for. We didn't linger but experienced first hand the reasons behind the equipment we used and spent the day working on navigation.
