A bit choppy out on the sea today

The rain had passed but the wind persisted. The Upper Sixth BTEC students headed to Newton Ferrers and enjoyed the shelter of the harbour before heading out to the mouth of the Erme for a spot of surfing. After poking our noses out on to the sea we turned and headed back to a beach to look at contact tows and a to get to grips with edging. Great day.

Stunning day to Sea Kayak to Wembury for a surf

What a stunning day. We launched from Newton Ferrers on the mill pond smooth water and rode the tide out to the sea, where conditions picked up to a rolling swell. We headed to Wembury where we had lunch before enjoying a surf session. Heading back to the calm of the Yealm estuary we practiced some more rescues before heading home. Great day

BTEC Sea Kayak to Bovisand

We made the most of the fine weather and calm sea, heading out from Mount Batten and along the coast to Bovisand for lunch on the beach. After a surf we headed back along the rocky shore, poking our noses, and kayaks, into more rock gardens before practicing rescues. What a brilliant day out!
