Welcome to Plymouth College Outdoor Education Blog. Here we will show the vast variety of activities we offer to students throughout the year including Ten Tors, Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Overseas Expeditions, Scuba Diving, Sailing, Paddlesport, Rock Climbing and Mountaineering, Mountain Biking, Power Kiting and much more.
Blessed with the weather again all four teams had a good walk. The 55 mile team had a long day today - we were in danger of reaching the mini bus at 13.30, so we added an extra long extension. Tired legs for all.
The Silver DofE group who opted for biking had their first ride out this afternoon. We got muddy, looked at navigation on bikes and basic riding skills. Getting home before it got dark!
This afternoon we went up to Marjons for our climbing session. We did some bouldering and top roping before starting to look at the first stages of leading, where we practised cliping a short lenght of rope into the quickdraws as we traversed across the bottom of the wall
Well done to the Sixth Form Students who lead a very successful day out kayaking for the Year 7 & 8 students. There were many good games and the day ran smoothly, helped along by the fine weather and sunshine.
